Is Ranked Charm based on highest Rank achieved yet? I know the Ranked Charm was or is based on current Rank at the end of the Season, but I heard a rumor that Ubisoft had changed it to be highest Rank achieved for the Season.
I can't find any sources, nothing in the patch notes or any Reddit posts, so I was hoping someone on here might know and be able to help my out with an official link or post if it's true. They simply changed it from where previously where copper 1 would be at like rank points now it's 0 at copper 1 and at diamond So they did drop it then.

They essentially dropped it by points All of the goal posts have just moved and been made smaller so people will move up and down in rankings.
The whole thing is daft. It'd be more fun for higher ranked players to throw all of their games and get down to copper 1 and then try to grind back up. Diamond should be almost impossible to achieve, only the very best players and teams should be able to achieve it.
It should have nothing to do with how many games you have played in relation to someone else. I appreciate that vital team members don't always get the highest kills.
Roamers will get more kills than support operators hunkering down in the objective. This makes it difficult to fairly rank people but at the end of the day, the sheer number of plats and diamonds I have played this season that we have is ridiculous. That shouldn't be possible if you are playing the best players in the game. We have not yet communicated how Ranked charms will be handled in Season 4.
Edit: In regards to the adjustment to the Diamond rank threshold, we will have a post going up tomorrow that will explain what has actually happened. This is a joke right? Where is the incentive to win games after hitting diamond? Not only has the difficulty level required to reach Diamond been dropped massively but now everyone that gets Diamond and loses it due to not being good enough to stay there are also going to get the charm?!

I always play with a 5 man, we play this game for fun and never try hard so we always play when we are full lobby, today we finished our placements, we all ranked gold and one of us ranked bronze 2, now we can't play together because there is a lot of difference between our MMR.

Ubisoft shared detailed information on what affects our rank:. The skill rank is regional based. The real value of a rank can vary from region to region. If we move to another place in the world, we will have to play the placement games again. Only victories matter. R6S is a team game, so only winning or losing a match can change your rank.
You score, individual performance, and KDA do not influence the rank or the points gained. Abandoning the game counts as a loss. The system considers any leave for AFK, vote-kick, or rage-quit a defeat. The game estimates your skill, so based on the uncertainty level you might get more or less points by winning or losing a match.
Even if you win a game with a friend at your same rank, you may gain a different amount of points. Hard reset. At the end of each season there is a hard reset. Of course, the statistics displayed in this article don't include the whole R6 population because each website can only access the data of the users using their service.
I analyzed all the websites available, and finally I concluded that R6DB is the most reliable one due to the huge number of visitors. Only data from the PC game. The distribution on console is very similar.

The average ranked player is a high Gold 3. Honestly, the current distribution feels very strange as the skill difference among Gold players is shocking. Only a minor amount of players drops below Silver. The vast majority is situated between Silver and Platinum. Copper 4 is a sort of container for the least skilled players in the game. There is a massive difference between Gold and high Platinum.
Considering how the matchmaking works, to go beyond Platinum 3 you must really prove your worth. Diamonds are the elite. To reach this rank you must master the game. I think that the current distribution is acceptable, but the percentage of population ranked at Gold is excessive, and the entire low ranked area might require an overhaul. Do not forget that the Rainbow Six Siege ranked system is still in beta and that the developers are actively working on it.

Your skill represents your ability to win a game. Comparing two teams' skill gives you the probability that one team will win against the other. The higher the difference, the more likely a given team is going to win. When two teams with the same skill levels are matched up with each other, they both have an equal shot at winning. The estimation of your skill is probabilistic.

In general, the more games you play, the more information we have about you, and the more confident we are about this estimation.
The lower the uncertainty, the higher the confidence. In the past, we incorporated a progression system that would take your engagement into account when determining your rank. In other words, you needed to lower your uncertainty to achieve higher ranks.
That led to a wide distribution of skill within the same rank. For example, a player whose skill we estimate to be Silver but played a lot of games was able to grind ranks as high as Platinum. This created confusion, as facing players of a given rank would lead to very different experiences.
Furthermore, by matching players of similar ranks together, there was no guarantee that they would have similar skill levels. Compared to data from previous Seasons, the average disparity in skill level between opposing teams has been cut in half with the new system. The MMR is not a reward system, and any progression you make after a certain point should reflect your improvement in terms of skill. The MMR is updated solely on the outcome of your match. If this outcome is unexpected for example, you lost against players with a lower skill than your teamthe skill updates will be more substantial, and vice-versa.
In addition to that, the more confident we are about your skill i. The values in this example do not reflect the actual updates that would happen with our system but it should give you an understanding of the situation. As depicted, we are seeing a positive trend in this regard following the release of Operation Red Crow. An alternate method for determining balance is by match results. Operation Red Crow is seeing an increase in the number of matches that end with a result of and closer.
The most notable result is the 2. This is further evidence that, while the threshold to obtain a certain rank has been adjusted, players are being matched with others much closer to their own ability than in previous Seasons. It does not.
If you get 15 kills per game but lose all of them, then your ability to win a game is very low, hence you should be ranked very low too. The idea is that if you play well, and are an asset to your team, you will naturally win more matches in the long run. This positive influence on winning matches is what we measure.
If you both have the same skill, the update will depend on how confident our system is regarding where you are placed. Due to the removal of the progression aspect of the MMR, we wanted a scale that was easier to understand, and also easier to link with your skill.
